Three scariest ways to spend your Halloween in London.

Are you running out of ideas for things to do on Halloween? Here are some suggestions you might have forgotten to consider…

1.  Knock on your neighbours’ doors for trick or treat.

You have no idea how they will react…Are they aware it is Halloween? Will they call the police straight away? Will they shut the door in your face? Will they give you some treats? Will they offer you a drink? Will they trick you with a drugged drink and rape you, kill you, kidnap you, hide you in their cupboard? A lot of unknowns, which makes it even scarier…

2. Go to your local university engineering department disguised in your most outrageous outfit…

…and count how many people (if any) will react at all and waste precious seconds away from revising their physics problem to look at you and admire your stupidity.

3. Cross Hyde Park in the middle of the dark night.

I have heard terrible stories about how dangerous walking in Hyde Park at night can be.

One student told me that he was once stuck in London for two days without accommodation over the summer, in between moving flats. He thought it was a good idea to camp and sleep in Hyde Park- he had a camping kit. He chose his spot in the park, set up his tent under a beautiful big tree. He covered himself with his “cosy” sleeping bag and tried to sleep. Suddenly, he was woken up by repetitive hammering sounds. It was 1 am. It was a horrible noise, the noise of bones breaking. My friend was terrified; his heart was pounding heavily. But he was brave enough to open the tent, get out and light his torch to see what’s going on. He saw a massive dark shadow trying to stab someone with repetitive, cold, mechanical hammering. The 20-years old man was trying to call for 999, his fingers shaking uncontrollably, when he suddenly realised the dark shadow was actually just setting up a tent…

He might not have found a serial killer there that day, but beware…you might do.
