Some ladies have this aura. Through their will, determination, values and beliefs, they’ve turned our world upside down.
And as if what they’ve achieved is not enough, they have also given memorable key speeches, which you can find on the internet, played thousands and thousands of times by people avid for some inspiration. Avid for some guidance, some hope that life after all is a white paper which you can write and rewrite and rewrite even if you’ve failed the first time.
JK Rowling
She suffered from depression.
She was a single mother with a little daughter.
She was struggling to earn their daily bread.
She wrote stories since she was 6.
She didn’t stop dreaming.
She dreamed of Harry Potter and his school of wizards while waiting for a 4 hours delayed train in Manchester.
She changed the world of millions of kids all over the world.
They all dream.
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default.”- JK Rowling
Patti Smith

She moved to NY aged 20. Homeless, she slept in the park. She found a tiny job in a shop. A creepy old guy tried to take her out. She wanted to run away. Rob Mapplethorpe, aspiring artist and photographer, saved her. They built their stories together. She never stopped writing. She wrote poems. She wrote prose. She wrote songs.
Gloria.
The Godmother of punk.
She made poetry look cool.
Her advice to the young is one of the most inspiring speeches you will find on the internet.
Some people have said to me, “Well, don’t you think that kind of success spoils one as an artist? If you’re a punk rocker, you don’t want to have a hit record…”
And I say to them, “Fuck you!” – Patti Smith
Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres. She started as a stand-up comedian. Then she had her TV series on ABC. Then she came out. Because of it, she was let down by the TV broadcaster. She sank into depression. Her career stalled. She picked up stand-up comedy again. It was a triumph. Then she created the Ellen DeGeneres Show. The rest is history.
“It’s failure that gives you proper perspective on success..
Follow your passion. Stay true to yourself. Never follow someone else’s path unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path. By all means, you should follow that.”-Ellen DeGeneres
Your mum

Is there someone more influential than the person who carried you in their belly for 9 months and in their heart for the rest of their life? They taught us how to speak, how to eat, gave us the values that we will carry and repeat to ourselves even if they are miles and miles away.
Is there someone more inspiring than a mum who does all these personal sacrifices in the name of love? A women that doesn’t only have to take care of herself, but of her kids, her husband, unfortunately the house, her job, very often the cooking, etc. etc. etc. etc. A mum is the superhero of our society. And she most likely exists in every household. And inside every one of us.
